Joseph Michael Dias
February 10, 1956 - May 6, 2008
Joseph "Mike" Dias was born in Turlock, California in 1956. Mike lived most of his life in the small town
of Hickman and recently moved to the community of La Grange. Mike attended Hughson High School, was Captain of the
football team and was named the defensive captain in the all star football game. He was selected as a High School
All American. Mike was aggressively recruited for his football prowess by many college football teams including UCLA
and Oregon State, but chose to attend California State University Bakersfield on a wresting scholarship. Mike was
a championship wrestler. He continued to stay involved in Hughson athletics by coaching both football and wrestling.
Mike was a devoted husband to his wife Staci and dedicated father to his five children Brianne, Rinni, Chelsea, Cameron, and Joseph. He is also survived by his five grandchildren, Aubrie, Brian, Addison, Claire, and Brinlea, his parents Joe and Agnes Dias of La Grange and his three sisters, Vicki Porter, Janine Dias-Avila, and Annette Machado.
Mike will always be remembered for his witty sense of humor, his incredible strength, and his can-do attitude. He was known among all friends and family as the "go-to" guy who would give you the shirt off his back or anything else you might need, but most of all, he was know for his love of the Lord, the Word of God, and the bible studies he lead with passion and purpose. Mike lived an amazing, active life and he played full out all the time 100%. He was larger than life, and will leave a huge gap in the lives of all of those that knew him.
Mike Dias, you will be much missed, but we are all blessed in the sure knowledge that you are with Christ, in perfect fellowship and joy.
